This book marks the beginning of the story of Nicci Alexander, a young woman thrust violently into the unknown world beyond what humans acknowledged. It is set in the modern age, where ancient magic prevents human beings from being exposed to the real creatures, some of them monsters, that live and work all around them. This is an ongoing story of people learning what it really means to be human.
